The ‘Northwestern Ontario Integrated Care Working Group’ – consisting of approximately 30 cross-sectoral and cross-geography system partners – has been working together and have developed recommendations on:
- A local Ontario Health Team (or other more culturally appropriate model of care) coverage model for the North West
- A coordinated approach to planning for regional specialized services
- What regional-level resources/supports may be required going forward
Key Highlights from February 14, 2022 Working Group meeting:
The ‘Northwestern Ontario Integrated Care Working Group’ (Working Group) met on February 14, 2022 to debrief on recent engagement activities and endorse the Expression of Interest document for submission to the Ministry.
The Working Group endorsed the Expression of Interest document which outlines the proposed OHT model. The document will be submitted to the Ministry on February 16. Further engagement will take place over the month of March, including the development of the Full Application for the emerging OHTs and regional structure.
The Working Group, and system partners, continue to aim for full approval of the North West OHT model by March 2022. The Working Group will meet again in March.
